Dodd Group's Gas Operations Manager Stewart Butler, who works on our Birmingham City Council gas contract, recently agreed to help raise funds for Richard Green, from our client Equans, for a sponsored cycle challenge that he was undertaking on behalf of St Giles Hospice. Stewart was blown away by the generosity of his colleagues and the supply chain partners that he works with when between them they were able to raise a staggering £1000 for Richard. Equans also stepped in and very kindly added a further £500 to the pot, enabling Stewart and Richard to present a cheque for £1,500 to this wonderful charity.
Georgina Hayne, who gratefully received the cheque on behalf of St Giles Hospice, explained "it costs approximately £9 million to provide care annually and that there are further 1,000 people in the community who could benefit from their specialist care if funds were available."
A massive congratulations to Richard for completing the 118km challenge in just 6 hours and to Stewart for his fundraising efforts.
