Telford Skills Hub is a 5-storey cube shaped building, providing a local teaching and training facility for the Telford Area. It is situated adjacent to the Telford Shopping Centre in Station Quarter. The centre provides learning for 16- to 18-year-olds via a Digital and Maths skills environment providing an innovative alliance between education and industry.
Each floor comprises of a central core for hot desk learning with an atrium extending through to roof level. Around the perimeter of the building are dedicated classrooms. Each floor is heated and cooled via ceiling mounted air conditioning units with localised Monodraught ventilation providing fresh air based on occupancy numbers and CO2 levels.
The inner areas are heated via a series of radiant panel heaters and radiators all fed from localised ASHP situated on the roof.
All classrooms are secured with door access control and are provided with state-of-the-art lighting systems with Dali control.
Power is provided via localised socket outlets within floor boxes or wall mounted dado trunkings.
The roof area of the building provided a convenient plant area which houses the Air Handling Units, Condensers and PV system.
