German owned corrugated board producer Prowell in partnership with Peel Logistics Property are building a two phase hi-tech 328,000 sq ft mega plant at Lee's Lane, Ellesmere Port. It is currently the largest and most technically advanced corrugated cardboard manufacturing plant in the world. A total of £75m is to be invested in the plant which will produce up to 500 million m2 of cardboard per year.
The first phase of the project is over 328,000 sq ft with outline plans for a 468,000 sq ft second phase building. The manufacturing space is mainly 15m high with a 41.5m high bay racking storage area.
A Dodd Group team accompanied Buckingham Group on a site visit to one of Prowell's operational plants in Plossberg, Germany to gain a better understanding of the client's requirements.
The project included a private HV substation, a HV ring, an LV package substation, LV distribution, LED lighting, lighting control, life safety, disabled services, security systems, passive data network, lightning protection, an FM global sprinkler system, a steam boiler, CHP's, cooling towers, ventilation and BMS.
