The new build Cultural Facility for Manchester City Council has provided an opportunity for Dodd Group to introduce BIM into it’s design and build contracts. All aspects of the BIM process were utilised to drive project efficiencies, including the 4D and 5D tools.
The Cultural Facility includes two theatres, five cinemas, a gallery, offices and a main foyer including restaurant and bar areas.
The 6,200sqm, 5 storey facility has been a challenging project, the introduction of BIM has encouraged collaborative working from all levels within the project team, allowing Dodd Group to liaise directly with the end user to ensure the M&E service requirements were achieved. Dodd Group then secured the theatre and cinema fit out contract which provided an additional £300,000 M&E works to our secured scope.
